Citizens Climate Lobby meetings take place the first Saturday of each month.

There are national Introductory Calls to CCL every Wednesday evening at 5:00 pm Pacific and 8:00 pm Eastern time lasting about 45 minutes.  This is a good way to learn about CCL before attending a meeting or thinking about starting a new Chapter.   To register go to the Introductory Call site.

Monthly CCL Chapter Meeting and National Conference Call:

Local CCL chapters meet the first Saturday of every month in time to gather and join  the National Conference Call (10:00 am Pacific to 1:00 pm Eastern).  There is a guest speaker on each call that provides information within their area of relevant expertise after the chapters have all signed on and have some highlights of activities.  The presentation is recorded and made available on the national CCL website each month.  Listening to past calls is a good way to learn about CCL and what attending a meeting is like.  Recent speakers have included Jonathan Haidt, author of The Righteous Mind, Adele Morris of the Brookings Institution, and Dr. John Abraham, IPCC reviewer and climate scientist at the Univ of St Thomas in St. Paul.

The Seattle CCL Chapter meets in the Greenwood area of Seattle for an optional potluck brunch at 9:30 along with discussion of climate change issues, laughter and rants.  Joins the Conference call from 10:00 to 11:00 am with the rest of the CCL chapters across the country.  From 11:00 am to noon or shortly there after the chapter plans for legislative or community action, practices laser talks, and writes letters to political representative or news editors.

In summary:

  • 9:30 am – 10:00 am:  Seattle CCL Chapter’s Potluck Brunch and Informal Discussion
  • 10:00 am – 11:00 am:  National CCL Conference Call with Guest Speaker
  • 11:00 am – 12:00 noon:  Planning, laser talk practice, and letter writing.

To come to a meeting of the Seattle CCL Chapter email seattle@citizensclimatelobby.org and request more information.  We would love to have you join us!
