About Seattle CCL

We are a local chapter of the national  Citizen’s Climate Lobby (CCL),  a non-profit, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change through a tax on fossil fuels, based on the CO2 content of those fuels, at the first point of sale. Revenue from that tax should be returned to the public as a monthly or annual payment to protect households from rising costs associated with the carbon tax. We train and support volunteers to reclaim their democracy and engage elected officials and the media to generate the political will for solutions that will stabilize the Earth’s climate.

We, as a local chapter, focus on developing relationships with congressional  representatives and the local media through letters, phone calls, and meetings. The time commitment for participation in CCL can be fairly low: Group members convene once a month for a national conference call, write letters to the editor, and build relationships with  our elected representatives through meetings and other engagement.

We welcome you to commit as much or as little time as you have!

  • Sign up for one of the national Introductory Calls to learn about Citizens Climate Lobby,
  • Listen to a recording of a past National CCL Conference call, and/or
  • Contact the Seattle CCL Chapter directly at seattle@citizensclimatelobby.org to arrange to join us at a local meeting to participate live in the national conference call with other chapters from around the country and the world.

Thanks for all you do!
