Mission

The mission of the Seattle Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby is to generate the political will to address climate change and to empower others to exercise their personal and political power.

CCL works towards this goal by engaging citizen’s groups to lobby for national legislation that will impose a carbon fee and dividend for a revenue neutral means of moving to sustainable energy use and avoiding climate disruption.  The national Citizen’s Climate Lobby (CCL) was founded on the observation that, though important, the actions that we can take as individuals are easily outpaced by the countervailing environmental policies of our government.  As we all know, this lack of positive government action does not result from a lack of possible solutions: we have today, at our disposal, all of the tools and technology needed to address the next 50 years of climate mitigation.
